Nile cruise Wi-Fi satisfaction reaches 89%
Think Tech helped a Nile cruise operator to improve guest connectivity, preserve its recent network investment, and exceed its guest satisfaction target.
Implemented and validated
The same internet access survey question and scoring method were used before and after implementation. Complaint results reflect front-office feedback during the first month.
For two years, guests experienced slow internet, loss of access and unreliable Wi-Fi during sailing between Aswan and Luxor. Before remediation, guest satisfaction level was 47% below the operator's 85% target.
The operator wanted to provide a stable and trusted internet service, retain its recent network investment, respect its guest internet use policies and have the solution operational before starting the new season.
Project priorities
Improve the guest experience
Acheive 85% customer satisfaction target
Retain existing infrastructure where practical
Reduce the front-office workload associated with guest connectivity complaints
Meet the season start deadline
Apply the operator's service policies

ThinkTech conducted a connectivity assessment and onboard Wi-Fi survey to identify the underlying causes of poor guest experience. The review highlighted router limitations, coverage gaps and insufficient separation between guest and operational networks. These findings informed a targeted improvement plan that preserved existing investment while addressing performance, security and resilience priorities.
Network segmentation and service prioritisation
Guest, staff, CCTV and network management services were separated, with controlled communication between them. Traffic policies prioritised business-critical applications and maintained the operator’s internet usage restrictions.
Security and access control
Existing infrastructure security capabilities were activated to strengthen network protection. Access controls restricted guest access to internal resources and management systems, reducing exposure to unauthorised access.
Documentation and operational handover
Network configurations, equipment, warranties and implementation changes were documented, providing the client’s IT team with a clear foundation for ongoing support, controlled changes and lifecycle planning.
Aligned project priorities and delivery milestones with the client, coordinating hardware procurement to meet the required implementation deadline.
Progressed changes of existing network alongside procurement, maintaining delivery momentum and preparing the environment for commissioning.
Validated performance, failover and resilience through customer acceptance testing, completing commissioning before the start of the new season.
Provided one week of hypercare during Aswan–Luxor sailings, with no monitoring alarms or issues reported. Following hypercare, the solution transitioned to ongoing remote monitoring with automated alerts, supported by AI-enabled self-healing and reporting where available.
" ...we think you worked a miracle by fixing the problem that others tried to resolve for 2 years without success. "
